Confronting Pancreatic Cancer

Walter Warren Leaman

Walter Warren Leaman lost his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer Friday, October 27th at 6:00 p.m. Walter was diagnosed August 2002 with Stage IV, inoperable Pancreatic Cancer metastases to the liver then to the stomach. This made Walter one of the longest survivors of Pancreatic Cancer.

With family and hospice at his side Walter’s final moments were very peaceful. Walter and his son Don Leaman have owned Nu-Tek Lighting Solutions in Walnut Creek for the past three years. Walter was well known in the “Lighting Retrofit” world and always helped those to improve their lighting with energy efficient products.

Walter’s real passion was to play as much golf as a person could in his life. He organized monthly golf tournaments for the “Bay Area Scramblers” over the past 6 years.

Walter is survived by his children, Don, Dennis, Cheryl and Kevin along with his grandchildren Kelsey, Justin, Devin, Travis, Sean, Abbi and Ashley.

Walter’s greatest love was his wife Jean, married for 18 years, she also enjoyed golf and also works in the lighting business.

Walter will truly be missed by family and those who loved him.

A celebration of Walter’s life will be Sunday, November 19th from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at The Bridges Golf Club.
